Adam, a massage therapist who loves to work with his hands, has been artistically inclined as long as he can remember. He has been drawing from life since childhood and he loves to sow costumes and to sculpt gargoyles in clay. He has taken art classes at the Ottawa School of Art, including the model training course. In the fall of 2003 he added the art of life modeling to his repertoire. He describes his first experience as a nude model as liberating and an excellent remedy to overcome shyness.

He loves gestures and short poses for the opportunity to express himself. He improvises on the spot, but is inspired by yoga, movies (Terminator series and Science Fiction) and television. He loves to create the illusion of movement while being completely still. Although his stillness is a definite strength, also for long periods of time, he feels he can be less creative and feels less in touch with his body during a long pose.

Adam has a relatively long neck. Poses that require him to stretch his neck for a long period of time are strenuous, as are poses where he has to keep his arm above his head. Being a man of few words, he is not in the habit to complain. He is interested in helping out and he wants to make a difference.

Whether holding short or long poses, Adam describes modeling as a totally enjoyable experience.
