Roy Brash

Roy Brash is a figurative and contemporary acrylic painter who drew and painted all his life. A native of Pembroke, Ontario, he also resides in Ottawa.

His sense of design and color has grown from his deep interest in viewing art exhibits in Canada and abroad. He believes that a painting should tell a story and provide interest to the viewer. Vivid color is important to him and he tries to use it to express mood and motion. Over the years, he has developed a knowledge and appreciation of color, design and luminosity, and worked to merge them into art pieces. In many of his works, he attempts to bridge abstract with realism. This often creates an environment where shape, color, texture and interpretation provide colorful striking results on the canvas.
