Rosemary Breault-Landry

Rosemary Breault-Landry was worked as a nurse for many years, but has always been an artist. She graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design (Toronto) in 1992 with first class honours, majoring in painting and drawing. During her third year she focused on sculpture and she has been sculpting the human figure and face ever since. She works preferably with clay, molds and bronze.

She is the president of the National Capital Network of Sculptors in Ottawa since 2008. Over the years she has participated in many juried exhibitions. In 2000 she won a national contest for a commission to sculpt the bust of Senator James Gladstone for the Parliament building in Ottawa. Her work can further be found in private collections in Canada, Italy and Germany.

Rosemary demonstrated the sculpting method of Auguste Rodin in the salle éducative de Musée de Québec in Québec City (1998). She taught sculpting and drawing at the Maison des Métiers d’Art de Québec (1998-2007) and will continue to teach clay modeling at the Shenkman Centre in Ottawa (starting fall 2011).
