Duncan became interested in modeling in 1998, because his girlfriend at that time was an experienced artist and photographic model in the Ottawa /Gatineau area. Consequently, he met some of the best models in the city whom he found to be creative and inspirational. Duncan began modeling at the Ottawa School of Art in about 2000 after he had taken a model training session there. Since then, he has worked as an art model for agencies, universities, schools, life drawing groups and individual artists.

Nudity has never been a problem for Duncan as he is comfortable in his own skin and often spent holidays on nudist beaches and on occasions at naturist resorts. He has always been interested in the Arts and loves creative movement and acting. He also likes to draw, play the guitar, take photographs and meditate. He has worked as a photographic and runway model in Canada and Spain and studied physical education, drama and creative dance in the UK. He is currently an ESL teacher. All these activities have shaped him into an athletic model with a rounded personality. He has a good sense of composition and has an ability to stay very still and focused while posing.

His secret to good modeling is finding a pose that is challenging, yet comfortable enough to maintain for a long or short periods of time. He can easily get back into the same position after a break. He is also a distinctive portraiture model: he has strong features and can easily maintain a gaze and facial expression for many hours. In addition, he is excellent for torso studies and likes to experiment with his gestures, which are often characterized by challenging arm- and handwork. He especially enjoys short poses which are often required for photographic work. He is also comfortable working with other models.

Duncan takes this profession very seriously; he always comes well prepared and he continues to learn from other models and art teachers and by drawing himself. Being on both sides of the canvas has helped him become a skillful and creative model.
