JANINE

Janine has been an artist model since 2005 and has been modeling ever since. She is in great demand with schools, life drawing groups and individual artists.

Artists favour her for many things: for her classic elegance and natural beauty, for her challenging short poses with a lot of intricate negative spaces, for her natural and graceful long poses, for her ability to maintain the gaze for long periods of time, and in general for her ability to remain very still.

Janine likes her short poses to be physically challenging, whereas she experiences the more comfortable long poses as private time for herself, time to reflect. The latter is more difficult when she sits for a portrait as it requires a higher level of intimacy.

Janine enjoys being part of the artistic milieu; she loves the different energies of the life drawing groups and she picks up knowledge from art teachers on the go. She is one of the best female models in Ottawa. She also starred as a life drawing model in Michael Ostroff's "Winds of Heaven", a movie about the life of Canadian artist Emily Carr.
