Janis Miller-Hall

Janis Miller-Hall is an artist currently living and working in Ottawa, Canada. Her work can be described as"contemporary realism", depicting people and their environment. She enjoys capturing a moment in time so that memories can be shared visually. She hopes her paintings will remind people of themselves, something they thought or somewhere they have been.

Her love of drawing prompted her to pursue the study of art at the University of Toronto where she received a bachelor of Art Education and at Sheridan College where she received a Creative Arts Diploma. Throughout her professional career, she has continued to teach and participate in life drawing and painting workshops whenever possible.

Her choices of media include oils, acrylics, pastels and mixed media. She likes to mix traditional painting genres and mediums with contemporary mediums to bring forth a multidimensional quality in her work. Her work can be found in both public and private collections throughout Canada, the US and the Caribbean, including the city of Ottawa's collection.
