Maryl T. Morris

Fine Artist/Animation Filmmaker/Performance Artist: Maryl Morris is a dedicated native Ottawa artist and teacher with an international background in drawing as an Animation Filmmaker such as feature films: HEAVY METAL, ANASTASIA and a local film production at Hinton Studios,THE NUTCRACKER PRINCE.

Primarily self taught, she had drawn as an animator and director,for twenty-five years in various animated film productions in both television and cinema throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Some of the educational and entertaining childrens television programming, such as THE RACOONS and KATIE AND ORBIE, are currently aired worldwide,even though for the past ten years she has been focusing primarily on her fine art body of work in Painting, Drawing and Sculpture and Poetry Illustration.

Lifedrawing skills were a key component in animating and designing characters and still vital to all aspects of her fine artwork today. Her lifelong passion for figurative art has become a meditative and regenerative experience, sustaining her in the exploration of the themes of the Sacred Feminine and its role in transformation and nurturance of ourselves and the Planet.

By appointment one can view her gallery space within her art Studio in the Ottawa Byward Market, where she also has frequent open house exhibitions of her current figurative art. Maryl has had many solo and group shows over the years and most recently created a retrospective called IMMOVABLE of creations spanning five decades.
