Paula Zoubek

Paula Mitas Zoubek has always been interested in women's and children's place in nature as well as in her heritage. Paula's parents came to Canada from the Czech Republic as it is now known, in 1939, on the last ship that left from South Hampton, England. She has been painting and drawing from an early age. Her degree in Fine Art is from the University of Toronto. She has also studied art at the University of Mexico and in venues in London, England and Paris, France.

Paula worked in the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto for several years and subsquent to that she worked as a textile designer. Her art has been collected far and wide from Papua New Guinea to Japan. Carleton University in Ottawa has a mural painted by her. Her paintings grace the walls of the Children's Aid Society, the Pearly and Rideau Veteran's Health Centre. One of her paintings is also in the collection of the War Museum in Ottawa.
