Rita Palin

Born in Plymouth, England. Rita qualified as a Registered Nurse and arrived in Vancouver, Ca, where she nursed for 3 years. She worked as a Home Childcare Adviser for Children’s Village at Ottawa-Carleton until her retirement in 2000.

In her retirement she enrolled in life drawing and painting courses at the Ottawa School of Art and became a student of Robert Hyndman, Pamela Cockcroft-Laserre and Erin Robertson, as well as Haliburton School of Art where she studied with drawing master, Brian Smith.

Rita loves to draw and paint using watercolour, ink and oils. She celebrates her passion for people by focusing on the face and thereby aiming to capture emotion. She describes her work as a process and an exploration, like life itself.

Rita sells her watercolours and prints through the Ottawa School of Art.
