In her native Montreal, Sandra Marshall pursued her early love of art at the Museum of Fine Arts school, especially relishing the clay modeling classes. She graduated from the McGill University School of Architecture in 1971, continuing her artistic pursuits in life drawing and watercolour painting. With a growing family, Sandra followed her muse at the Town of Mount Royal pottery studio and attended workshops to master ceramic techniques such as glazing and raku firing. She now works out of her own studio in Ottawa. Sandra enjoys the challenge of capturing spontaneous expression and action in her human and animal sculptures.
Sandra is a long time member of the Ottawa Guild of Potters and has won juror's choice awards for her ceramic sculpture.
Her work can be viewed online on the Guild website at www.ottawaguildofpotters.ca and on her personal website at www.sandramarshall.ca. She has recently participated in shows with the National Capital Network of Sculptors and she has pieces at the Ottawa Art Gallery boutique.
